We're Geeks. We Play Games.

I'll put something more exciting here later.

In the meantime, have a beverage and relax. It could be awhile.

What beverage would I suggest?

  • A nice sangria.
  • An old fashioned.
  • A Long Island Iced Tea.

Connecticon: Here We Come!

Heading to Connecticon this weekend? We'll be there! When we aren't playing RPG's, we'll be running panels. Come and say hi!

Gaming panel (Geeks Playing Games):

Gaming Your Fandom
Event Location: Panel 5 (CTCC MR 11) - (Seats 100)
Date: Sunday, July 14, 2013
Time: 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM
Whovians. Trekkies. Bronies. Browncoats. Whatever fandoms you identify with, a common thread is the desire to immerse yourself further into the worlds you love. Cosplay and fan fiction are great ways to jump into those worlds, but what about gaming? Join Geeks Playing Games as we share how you can play your Fandom through tabletop games. We will discuss: how gaming can be a fun part of celebrating your fandom, the available RPGs, board games, and the like for various fandoms and how to build your own games by adapting current games or rules to fit your fandom.

Steampunk panels (MISFITS):

Building the ‘Other You’ Part 1: Persona Transformation
Event Leader: Glen W
Event Location: Workshop 1 (CTCC MR 26) - (Seats 90)
Date: Friday, July 12, 2013
Time: 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM
Do you have your own Cosplay persona in the works or have ideas dancing around in your head for one? Come join Alden G. Ellis & some of the other MISFITS as we discuss how to transform yourself into that "Other You." Topics will include finding strengths to further develop your alternate persona, using the Steampunk Rorschach to discover your projective potential, and interviewing the 'Other You' during the creative process. Whether Steampunk or not, you are sure to have some practical takeaways from this panel.

Building the ‘Other You’ Part 2: Demand & Supply!
Event Location: Workshop 1 (CTCC MR 26) - (Seats 90)
Date: Saturday, July 13, 2013
Time: 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM
Don't let the Part 2 scare you away. In this stand alone workshop, Alden G. Ellis & other members of MISFIT Steampunk will be continuing the topic of transforming yourself into the Cosplay persona that you have been envisioning. The 'Other You' deserves the best you have to offer! Topics will include setting priorities & planning for success in the creative process, identifying foundational, signature & personality pieces, and building your creative inventory through bargain hunting, upcycling & collaboration.
